Note: this form is not compatible with the DOS LOGDRAFT program.

WIDNR

To use the form:

• Make sure you've installed the latest LD4 update from this page.
  
  
• Click on the above download link.  Your browser will ask where you want to place the download: make sure that you place it into the same hard disk subdirectory that holds your LOGDRAFT program (C:\PROGRAM FILES\GEOSYS or C:\GEOSYS). Under Vista, this directory is not writeable, so you need to save the file to C:\USERS\PUBLIC\DOCUMENTS\GEOSYSTEM
  
  
• Once you've downloaded the file, double-click on your "My Computer" icon, or open the Windows Explorer.
  
  
• Using Windows Explorer or the "My Computer" dialog, navigate to the hard disk directory where your LOGDRAFT program is installed: in the right-hand pane you should be able to find the file you just downloaded. Note that the file may or may not end in ".EXE"; for instance, you may see either "WIDNR" or "WIDNR.EXE".
  
  
• Once you've found the file you downloaded, double-click on it  -- this should open a DOS window and show a number of files being "extracted". If you get any messages to the effect that a certain file already exists, say "y" to the "Overwrite" message.
  
  
• Start LD4 then start a new project.  Choose "Project" > "Default Data Entry Form" and select:
  • 3300-5W to enter form # 3300-5W logs
  • 3300-67 to enter form # 3300-67 logs
  • 4400113 to enter form # 4400-113 logs
  • WIDNRLOG to enter boring logs to be printed on form # 4400-112
    
    
• When you're ready to print, select "Print" > "Reports", select the borings you're looking to print, then click on the "Report Forms" Print Settings tab and select:
  • 3300-5W to print form # 3300-5W logs
  • 3300-67 to print form # 3300-67 logs
  • 4400113A to print form # 4400-113 (side 1)
  • 4400113A to print form # 4400-113 (side 1)
  • 4400113B to print form # 4400-113 (side 2)
  • WIDNRLOG to print boring logs to be printed on form # 4400-112
    

Special instructions for adding company name, address, and phone number on forms 4400-113A and 4400-122 (WIDNRLOG):

1. After you have completed all instructions above regarding download and extraction of WIDOT, start LD4.
2. Choose "Tools" > "Report Forms".
3. Choose the form you wish to change. (4400113A is form 4400-113 side 1; WIDNRLOG is form 4400-122)
4. Select "Search"
5. Type "See www.geosystem" (without the quotes) then click on the "Search" button
6. Double-click on the item listed in the search results box
7. Enter your company name into the following dialog then click on the "Place" button
8. Select "Search"
9. Type "for instructions on placing" (without the quotes) then click on the "Search" button
10. Double-click on the item listed in the search results box
11. Enter the first line of your address into the following dialog, then click on the "Place button
12. Select "Search"
13. Type "company name/address" (without the quotes) then click on the "Search" button
14. Double-click on the item listed in the search results box
15. Enter the second line of your address into the following dialog, then click on the "Place button
16. Choose "Report" > "Exit"
17. Your form is now modified to include your company name
