Western Area Power Administration Boring
Log Form
This form is not compatible with LOGDRAFT III (our DOS drilling log
program): DOS users please use SAMPLE4 instead.
WAPA.EXE
To use the form:
- Start by clicking on the above download
link. Your browser will ask where you want to place the download:
make sure that you place it into the same hard disk subdirectory
that holds your LOGDRAFT program (C:\PROGRAM FILES\GEOSYS or C:\GEOSYS).
- Once you've downloaded the file, double-click
on your "My Computer" icon, or open the Windows Explorer.
- Using Windows Explorer or the "My
Computer" dialog, navigate to the hard disk directory where your
LOGDRAFT program is installed: in the right-hand pane you should be
able to find the file you just downloaded. Note that the file may
or may not end in ".EXE"; for instance, you may see either "WAPA"
or "WAPA.EXE".
- Once you've found the file you downloaded,
double-click on it -- this should open a DOS window and show a
number of files being "extracted". If you get any messages to the
effect that a certain file already exists, say "y" to the "Overwrite"
message.
- Start LOGDRAFT then start a new project.
Choose "Project" > "Default Data Entry Form"
and select WAPA as your data entry form.
- When you're ready to print, press Ctrl-P
(to show the report printing
dialog), select the borings you're looking to print, then click on the
"Report Forms" Print Settings tab and click on the WAPA
report form.
NOTE: This form
is designed for B-sized paper because the client that requested the form
needed this paper size. If you need a letter-sized version, please check
SAMPLE4 (from LOGDRAFT press Ctrl-P, click on the "Report form"
tab then click on the "Sample Forms" button): the WAPA form
is almost a direct copy of the boring form shown in the US Dept. of Interior's
Earth Manual and from which SAMPLE4 was copied.
