California Bearing Ratio Screen Shots

CBR's configuration dialog supports a number of data collection and reporting techniques.

The program uses the newest Windows help system and includes a table of contents, index and search facility.

Soak data may be entered for any or all of the three test specimens. The resulting chart of swell vs. time can be included on the program's hardcopy report. Optionally, a list of container weights and IDs may be kept so that the container IDs may be entered instead of looking up each container's weight.

The penetration vs. depth chart features a linear correction line which may be adjusted to correct for nonlinear initial curve sections.

This is the CBR vs. Density curve preview window. The curve may be shaped by adding additional points for it to pass through. The CBR line (red dashed line) indicates the CBR value at a selected percentage (usually 95, though it can be changed from the "Max. Dens. Percent" box at the left) of the sample's maximum density. Penetration depths may be entered in either inches or mm; densities in pcf, kgm3, g/cm3, or kN/m3.

CBR reports may be exported in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format. (This format is rapidly becoming the standard for Internet document distribution.) E-mail your reports to clients or post them to your own web site.

You can also add your reports to a Microsoft Word document: from CBR select "Edit"> "Copy Data", then swap to Word and select "Edit">"Paste."

You can also export your data as .XML files. These may be previewed with a web browser (like this screen shot shows) or read into Excel XP. These files are ideal for e-mailing raw testing to clients or for posting to a web site.
