Features in the Windows CONS Program that are not in the DOS CONS Program

The following is a (non-comprehensive) list of improvements made to the Windows CONS program that are not in the DOS version of CONS. (DOS CONS users may want to consult this list when considering whether or not to upgrade.)

Windows CONS program features:

• Shares data with other GEOSYSTEM Windows program (no need to enter the project number more than once per project).
  
  
• Project summary tool allows you to generate lists of test results on a project-by-project basis.
  
  
• Supports many more loading increments per test and 10 times as many readings per loading increment.
  
  
• Features simultaneous display of the compression and time rate curves during data entry. (Makes it easy to tell when to end a loading increment).
  
  
• Unlimited number of machine deflection tables and separate deflection entries for load, unload and reload increments.
  
  
• Cr and Cs (recompression and swell indices) are calculated.
  
  
• Entry of a specific gravity value is now optional.
  
  
• New test summary report includes miniature time-rate charts for each loading increment.
  
  
• New time-rate report shows up to 4 curves per page.
  
  
• Supports plotting of rebound time-rate curves.
  
  
• Optional support for custom data acquisition equipment.
  
  
• Full support for ASTM D4536 Method A and B swell tests.
