Several years ago, Internet companies as well as private vendors were offering free storage space via their web-servers for document storage and transfer via the web. Although details need to be completed: the geotechnical specific web-server is foreseen to be a secure website where customers can log in through a specific user name and password to access their project information. They will have access to view and download their project reports as well as other project-specific information during and after the project. This creates a tighter connection between client and firm, allowing client's constant interaction, which not only increases communication and satisfaction but also narrows the gap for errors. The company purchasing the rights to post information will also have the option to post information that is not made available to clients and is simply there for internal business use, insuring that information will never be lost.
